Learn more about the LUMAS concept and founders as well as the prominent fans and artists who have made us what we are today: the world’s largest publisher of limited-edition art. Celebrate this momentous occasion with us and take part in our tree-planting celebration when you purchase any work of art.

You Found Art, We Planted Trees

Art for Nature

After 15 years of LUMAS, we wanted to give something back and contribute to a good cause very dear to our hearts. The idea was simple: you bought fantastic art, we planted trees in your name. We wanted to do our part to make a long-lasting impact so there will continue to be room for inspiring art and creativity long into the future!

For a short time, for each artwork purchased, we had three trees planted in Nicaragua by our partners Prima Klima. New trees mean new life. Our LUMAS forests offer resistance against climate change and an improvement in the lives of the local farmers.

Participants received a personal certificate from Prima Klima with your name and the number of trees they were able to plant for you. Find out more about our Art For Nature project and explore the LUMAS collection.

"In the spirit of Andy Warhol, I can only reiterate: the art of multiplication democratizes a work of art conceived to be a single piece! Through this potential, Pop Art was created! LUMAS gallery gave my piece (Black Beauty) this glamour."

"Farin Urlaub has a singular view of Asia that reminds me of my countless travels to that part of the world. His works are touching and inspiring. To me, art - like cuisine - provides moments of enjoyment that let reality vanish from our thoughts, enabling us to dream and find inspirations."

"While the world is flooded with amateur photos made using gimmicky app effects, LUMAS always exhibits the highlights of the photography world with outstanding artists like GABO. I love this picture of Nina Hagen. It is a musical icon from the perspective of one of Germany's most important photographers. These are two women whose abilities, vision, and style made a lasting mark on music and photography in Germany."

"A nocturnal drive and a quick look out the window – Robert Lebeck’s picture of the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin is an unusual portrait of this iconic piece of modern architecture. The streets, the silhouettes of the trees against the night sky, and the garish colors of Keith Sonnier’s neon installation all blur into a surreal vision from a dream. My favorite LUMAS piece!"

"Marc Brandenburg grew up in Texas and Berlin, and he was one of the coolest doormen in the island of the West. After the wall came down, he has been a continuously erupting volcano of ideas, becoming one of the new capital’s key figures. The fact that he manages to maintain the chronological balancing act between Picasso’s porcelain plate experiments and his own urbane abstractions is actually just another consistent step into the next future."
